Monday’s Inspiration: Real Estate

nytimes.JPG

I came across this interior via the New York Times real estate section, and while it not the most glamorous interior I’ve ever posted, it is an authentic one. I like: the gallery wall, the velvet sofa, the arm chair. The wall mounted air conditioner is a little funky, yes.

Our weekend: relaxing in Boston with family, seeing friends, shopping at Costco, making it back to NYC in under 3 hours.

I love how you described it as ‘authentic’. I agree. It is so amazing to see a room like this. Wouldn’t it be an incredible film set?

I really like the way the gallery wall almost makes the AC unit disappear and actually uses it to create a broader backdrop for the sitting area. The room would seem weirdly unbalanced just having the ugly AC unit on its own randomly in the wall. Great find!

I really love this room, but I am trying to put my finger on exactly why. It’s not somewhere I would feel comfortable living, but it is authentic.
