yikes, it’s anaglypta

More flower inspiration from Martha Stewart Weddings. The great textured paper around the vases is called anaglypta and is basically a type of embossed wallpaper. I found some rolls (see my favorite below) over at Wallpapers Plus, but $200 dollars — the cost per roll — doesn’t seem to justify a few cute vases.
However, I still thought this would be so nice for a birthday party decoration (I’m planning Tim’s 30th as I type this) so I looked around and found these embossed papers at PaperMojo and at $4.50 a sheet I’m sold!

Hi Abbey, love the embossed paper.
I’ve tagged you, and given you an award - check my blog and pass on if you’re up for it. (I do know how often these go around so don’t feel obliged although I’m sure you have some interesting quirks to share.)

this is neat. i bought four rolls of embossed wallpaper like this years ago dirt cheap on clearance (home depot or something?)
never had too much use for it except card making or gift-wrapping (only for my favorite friends, of course)
now i have another idea of what to use it for. thanks for the tip.

I wonder if you can just get a sample from a wallpaper company … It would probably be enough to create your own pretty vase.

I totally saw this lovely wallpaper about a year ago at a friend of the families house. It was so beautiful.

Ooh - great find! And unless you were planning a major event, a whole roll of wallpaper would be overkill anyway.

I’ve seen paper like that at regular hardware stores. I’m sure it was WAY less than $200. May be worth checking to see if it’s still as common as it was 15 years or so ago when I was 12 and getting to “decorate” my own bedroom for the first time . . .

i love that texture, but i don’t like the pairing with those flowers…it needs to be brighter, no?
