A little weekend DIY

This is one of my favorite DIY projects I’ve seen in a while and a really nice way to personalize cheap frames (and use up that fabric stash!). I’d love to do this with IKEA wooden frames and rad vintage fabric (or wallpaper, actually). Someday I’ll get around to doing this….. Has anyone tried this? Any tips?

I worked at a Montessori school, years back. Some of our decoupage projects inspired me to head over to ArtMart and buy several types of hand-made papers. I also bought spray glue and gloss sealer. I covered the oversized frame with the textured paper. Then, I covered the inside back of the frame. I attached the display piece, in this case a photo, in the center. The photo looks set on a textured matte. I did the same paper on both the “matte” and the frame, with the glass glare and shadowing giving the slightly off-set color ‘thing’. But, I think coordinating papers would look great.
I also covered a foam wig head with the paper scraps and some fall leaves.
