Dream House

This is my dream house, built in 1798. $325,000 in Litchfield, CT.  NB to New York friends:  don’t worry, we’re not moving to the country.

    Um, WOW.

I guess there are some upsides to an economy in the crapper!

oh wow! I can’t believe such a charming little house is somewhat affordable! (and by affordable, I mean, I am surprised it is not closer to 1 million!). What a great find!

Those fireplaces are amazing. I can see why this would be your dream home. It is beautiful. And unless it comes without a furnace or electricity, it is a very good price!

Lindsay and Tricia, the reason it is so affordable is that it is not within commuting distance of NYC — so its really more of a “country house” or a place we’d move if we could figure out jobs in the middle of CT (maybe if I got a book contract and tim won the lottery). But still, we can all dream!

I did an internship in Litchfield! Cute little town but, like you said, it’s kind of out there. Great house.

why must New England taunt me this way? It really is a fantastic home. Love the fireplace, kitchen cabinets, exterior. Just plain lovely.
