Make Your Own Vintage Bus Roll

james_merrell_orgaic_display_rect540

Who doesn’t like a vintage bus roll?  I’m still in the process of (cheaply) decorating our white walls and I’ve been thinking of making my very own bus roll using the “roadway” font at dafont.com and photoshop, and then Rasterbating the image.  Remember this rasterbation project from our old apartment? PS I love the sea stones under the table in this image!  If you don’t want to make your own, but like the idea of a custom bus roll, check out Etsy seller Hirondelle Rustique’s for $99.

Well. I have to call my mother…people who visited our house when I was growing up were puzzled by our non-matching arrangements & other things chez nous. She’ll be so glad to know that she was only 40 years ahead of her time:) Yes, in the 1950s. I have old photographs of moi as baby in our apt. Off to call my mom. (Seriously, she’ll be thrilled.)

Love this! The Etsy store you link to even as an example with Dublin street names. I couldn’t be more tempted!

Hi Abbey – I’m rather obsessed with tram/bus rolls so I loved your post. Can’t wait to see how yours turns out.

    Have a lovely Sunday.

Add a vase of red poppies and that last photo is what I think heaven looks like.

I really like your white fluffy couch. It looks like the perfect place to get comfy and read a good book…

What a great idea! It’s like having a blackboard but without the hurried drawings and rude scribblings that my friends would no doubt put on it! This is much more stylish!

Hey! I actually did this to incorporate quotes we used from our wedding in between our pics… turned out super cute and was a nice graphic, black and white balance, to the “prettiness” of the photos… Kept the cheeze factor to a minimum… And now that I remember (it’s been a while, am I’m not so very bright) I used this same technique on our invites, too!) I love the sea-stone myself :) Such a great idea- you are so free in your designs it is simply remarkable! i couldn’t never design something like this just because I cannot let my self go enough :) SHAPO for that- you have an amazing apartment! How did you think of the rope knots on the chairs? It is so interesting!
