Daily Dose of Green

Monday, March 8th, 2010

We made it to LA in one piece and are feeling fantastic! Alex was an amazing traveller. Not a peep (although a few joyful shrieks) for the six hour flight. We had sublime fish tacos for lunch, followed by a walk on the beach. This is the view from our room. A perfect antidote to my NYC winter blahs.

Oh Baby: Four Layer Puzzles

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

I was scouting around today for new toys for Alex so we’d have some new toys for the six hour plane ride to the West Coast.  While it may not come on the plane with us, I fell in love with this sweet puzzle from Beleduc ($13.95).

Taking the show on the road: LA

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

We’re headed to Los Angeles next week for a low key vacation.  I just want to eat good food and explore the city since I’ve never been before. On my list: Tavern for breakfast and Bake Lab for sweets!  Found via Happy Lady Eats.   Also of interest: the Craft and Folk Art Museum.

Inspiration: Clutter File

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I keep a file on my computer called “clutter” and I’m finding all sorts of goodies in there today. The first two are from an apartment listing I saw online in 2007.  I love the grey in the living room and black in the kitchen (love the light wide wooden floorboards).  All that woodwork in the living room conceals storage. These next two are from Remodalista.

Paris Snippet

Carousel, Paris 2006 from Design Scouting on Vimeo.

In my ongoing computer file clean up I found this 24 second video from our trip to Paris in 2006.  I don’t usually like video on the web, but at 24 seconds it gives you a tiny taste of Paris, just like eating a macaroon.

Berries

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I’m still uncluttering.  This week I’ve been organizing eight years of computer clutter.  Bonus: I found this shot of berries and it made me happy.
